So much has transpired in such a short amount of time. Where to begin...that is the true question.
Leah - Finished paramedic school and took the NYS paramedic exam (may 19, 2011); working hard at TLC, Inc ambulance full time (42 hrs / week); found out I am expecting (january 12, 2012); dont know what a day off feels like. It feels like there is something every day; still Sunday school teacher for the 12 - 14 yr olds at church
Mike - Full time working at MacKenzie-Childs, Ltd (40 / week); taking care of the outside work of the house; getting ready to take on Phoenix Schooling in July; still the clerk at the church; cant wait for the new baby; doing great with picking up the slack of the kitty litter for me since Im not allowed.
Brycen - Doing great in school; cant wait for summer vacation; loves Nickelodeon and Disney TV and sometimes Cartoon Network (when we allow it); his hand writing getting much better; reading above grade level; loves the idea of being a big brother; loves the cats.
Zora & Prince - Pampered kitties; get snacks once a day; naps in the afternoon on my lap; try to escape when my hands are full. Sometimes they are successful but get a tap on the bum when they do...they are indoor kitties; they turned 1 on the 23rd of May.
We lost a very important member to our family at the end of April...he was a brother-like figure to me (as well as his twin brothers) since I was born. He had acute form of Leukemia. He fought a great fight; his funeral was amazing; as well as his brother sang The Lord's Prayer. His 16 yr old son designed the front of the program. I cant imagine the feelings they are feeling. I was devastated to learn of his passing but so glad I went to the funeral.
I am so thankful for my family and my other family, as well as my friends who love me and my family for who we are. We Zumba at my house every Wednesday night at 7:30p...it is a blast. Anyone who wants to join us for this festive event is more than welcome...we also have a great and easy dinner.
I love my Elder Bradley who is in Spain and doing the Lord's work...we are so pleased with him. Also, so happy for the new Ames baby in September...not to mention the amazing Poe and Rowland boys that have joined our family last year. What an amazing family we have and how we have grown. Love you all. See you next month for more on the Kishpaugh's!

February 2011
This month has been interesting. Brycen has adjusted to the new house and the kittens and doing well in school. A week off of school is coming up and he is so thrilled.
I am in the Paramedic refresher program and will be done with that in May. I still work full-time and love it...the hours are not so fabulous...but it pays the bills and we are able to work our schedules with Brycen's schedule.
Mike has had 3 episodes of palpitations in the last 2 years. He has been in the ER twice and the last time he was in the ER...they said that he had to see a cardiologist and get a stress test, because there was chest wall involvement, but nothing screamed at the ER doctor to make him keep Mike in the hospital. Mike went to the cardiologist and they made him wear a hulter monitor for 24 hours. He was glad to get that off. He goes for the stress test in March. We hope it is just anxiety and not anything cardiac. But, whatever the result, we will roll with it.
My aunt got married to a wonderful guy. The ceremony was great and the reception was fun. It was good to get the family together again. It is far and few between when we can get together.
I have had the opportunity to take care of 2 little kids under the age of 2 and it was fun. I know that I am ready for another child. Brycen loved having them at the house for a day. He was so good with them and helpful for me.
I am truly thankful for all the true friends I have surrounding me and my family. I love having a supportive family that gives guidance and counsel when they see something going off track.
Brycen loves being in his own house. He said the other day, "I dont want to cut my hair; I want to be like Justin Beiber". I laughed and said, "Well, that is all well and good, but when under my roof; you will cut your hair." His quick wit rebuttle, "My papa once said that I can do what I want with my hair." He is too smart and too wise for his 6 young years. How much he brightens my day...even when he sometimes pushes my buttons at times.
I love the fact we are on our own...family is still close by and Brycen still gets off the bus at the Grandparent's house. I cannot wait for Spring and the warmer weather. So much planned for this year and it is so exciting to know that, it is going to come true.
I hope you have a great day. My God bless you with all you need.

New House
Ok...so we were accepted to rent a house from friends since they currently live out of state. It is a 3 bedroom ranch style house. Lots of space. We also acquired 2 cats from a friend. They are both 8 months old. The black cat is named Zora Ravenclaw and the white cat is named Princopher Pugsley. They are both getting use to the new place.
Zora gets her stitches out this week and hopefully we Prince fixed as well. They are a real treat to have with our family. They are crazy silly at times and very snuggly others. They sleep with us at night. Both easily scared still...Zora more than Prince.
Brycen is growing like a weed and loving his new space and his room. He loves the cats, but sometimes goes to fast at them and scare them (we are working at that). He loves going to school, but doesnt like some of his peers. At we keep telling him; kids can be mean; just remember that you are loved inside your house.
Mike is working hard at work and at church. He doesnt like getting up and leaving for work but knows that there is a goal at the end of the tunnel. He is still doing online school through Cayuga Community College in Auburn.
I am working full-time and taking a class on tuesday nights until May. I also help a friend with her group Fun Without Food. Unpacking is driving me nuts. I would rather dive into a swimming pool full of double edged razor blades than move again.
We got our dish working so we can actually watch TV instead of movies all the time or video games. Life, is looking up right now. Just taking it one day at a time. That is all I can muster.
The snow is falling and the wind is hollowing. Not loving the fact that winter is here and that I have to leave my warm and comfy house and drive in it. I would much prefer staying home and snuggling on my couch.
Thank you to all who have supported us and helped us these last few months. You all know who you are and the blessings will be poured out.
Love,
Leah - Mike - Brycen - Zora & Prince

January 2011
We have been able to rent a house not far from mom and dad. We painted brycen's room dark blue; our room midnight blue; living room green and the dining room white. The hall will be egg shell white after we are done moving all of our stuff in.
We are getting 2 new members to our family. Their names are Zora and Prince. They are cats. They are kittens. Prince is calico and Zora is black. Their original owners still have visitation rights.
January 8th we are moving all of our belongings into the house. It is a truly cute 3 bedroom house. There is an attic that runs the whole length of the house. It sits on 1.9 acres of land. It makes for a cozy little diamond in the rough.
We have a planned vacation for this summer that is all paid for. We are so excited for the this year and all that is planned for it.
We love all of our family and those who have supported us through the years. Also, Mike still is the ward clerk. I am the sunday school teacher for the 12 - 14 year olds. And, brycen is in a new class in primary.
I will let you know next month how the move went and all that has transpired for January. Be safe and happy.

Post Christmas 2010
Well...we survived Christmas. I worked 34 hours straight then came home. We found out that we are able to rent a house starting January 2011. YAY! We have the keys to get in it and change things and paint.
Brycen got for Christmas --> clothes, music dog, candy, car that makes noise, gift card to best buy, movies, PS2 games, etc...
Mike got for Christmas --> candy, clothes, money, etc...
Leah got for Christmas --> make-up, light house, glass unicorn, etc...
The family got for Christmas --> navigation system, camcorder, portable dvd player, house for rent.
Over all a great Christmas. The season has been a blessing in all directions. I hope everyone has a great 2011. Our plans are not set but it will be a great year to boot.

September - December 2010
Brycen went to the cardiologist this past summer and was told he still had a hole in the atrial wall. When he is 8 they will do an echo-cardiogram and when he is 10 they will do a stress test. We were told to come in if anything started to become a problem ie turning blue, stop breathing, cant catch his breath... He loves first grade. His personality is more like a 10 yr old but we constantly remind him that he is 6 and we are the parents...he just laughs.
We are doing great. Mike got laid off of McQuay and we decided it was time to look for a job that is constant not 4 months on and 8 months off. He got a job a MacKenzie - Childs, Ltd. It is closer to home and they are willing to work with my schedule. I am still at TLC, Inc (3 yrs and going). Starting my refresher for paramedic in January in Geneva; every tuesday 6p - 10p until May. Mike is still in college (online) through Cayuga Community College for Business Administration and then going on to ITT Tech online to continue toward his BA and eventually Masters.
We just got our Christmas pictures back. I finished the Christmas shopping and the cards are ordered...and I feel accomplished. We are looking into a house to buy (finally on our own). Also, we are planning a fabulous family vacation for the summer if 2011.
We spent Thanksgiving with Cheri and Izzadorable (dog). It was a great 4 days of family, food and fun. We love getting together. Family is very important to us. We miss those who live far away and treasure those who are close by.
Many things to be thankful for this time of year...many loses...many gains...many emotional times...many laughs. I hope everyone is happy and healthy this holdiday season. I will let you know how "Santa" treated us. God bless.

Septmber 2004 - September 2010
Brycen had heart surgery December 2004. Brycen's hole in the ventricular wall was repaired with a tephlon patch. Then they found a second hole in the atrial wall. That hole is still open.
Brycen was cleared to moved to New York when he was 6 months old. Brycen's parents moved their family from Kinston, NC to Aurora, NY to live with Leah's parents. They are currently looking for their own home.
Leah and Mike got jobs and maintained their bills. Brycen spent most of the days with sitters. At 4 he was accepted into the PreK program and then into Kindergarten. He is currently in 1st grade and thriving.
Leah and Mike have had many struggles; emotionally, financially, in the marriage. Within the years their marriage strengthened and many roller coaster rides. Many weekender and memories made.
Now, we are a happy family. Now, we have many responsibilities in the community and church. I am the Youth Sunday School Teacher. Mike is the Ward Clerk. Brycen loves primary.
We have found that I am allergic to the environment and mike is allergic to the environment and to certain foods. We are so grateful for a family in the ward that has started a group about living with food allergies.
We have been spending holidays with family and what a joy that is. We sorely miss the family that is far away. We miss our friends that are not near us. We miss those who have passed unexpectedly or expectedly.
We love going to movies and being outside. So many more memories to share as this blog grows. Also, we are so proud of Brad in his decision to serve a mission in Spain.
